JACC: Basic to Translational Science Launches Preprint Server Option for Authors
JACC: Basic to Translational Science has launched First Look, a new option for participating authors to showcase their research while it undergoes the peer review process. Available through a partnership with SSRN, First Look supports researchers in the early distribution of their work when formal publication is forthcoming.
Aligned with the Journal’s aim to accelerate the translation of new scientific discoveries into new therapies that improve clinical outcomes for patients afflicted with or at risk for cardiovascular disease, “this preprint server option allows authors to choose early dissemination, making these important findings discoverable earlier in the publication process,” said Editor-in-Chief Douglas L. Mann, MD, FACC.
An invitation to submit to JACC: Basic to Translational Science First Look will be provided to all authors when a primary research article is first sent for peer review. When the option is chosen, research will be discoverable through SSRN weeks earlier than traditional publication.
An open access journal, JACC: Basic to Translational Science seeks to become both a forum and a learning center for investigators in academia and industry, patients and families, the National Heart Blood and Lung Institute and the US Food and Drug Administration to help advance translation cardiovascular medicine.
